West Bowling Youth Initiative

West Bowling Youth Initiative was established in 1991 as a voluntary youth organisation working with young people aged predominately 13 to 25 in the Bradford 5.

The project was set up by local people working with a range of agencies that supported West Bowling Youth Initiative’s main aim of working with young people at risk.
 

Objectives
WBYI is a focal point for personal and social development group work and one-to-one training. The project:

  • Offers volunteering opportunities enabling young people to increase access to and ownership of facilities and resources in the community

  • Increases employability of young people through a range of employment and skills development workshops.

  • Provides youth friendly programmes by providing advice and guidance through community based programmes. 

  • Supports disaffected young people through guidance and by enabling them to increasing their personal and social skills.
